How neverl.ink Works
neverl.ink allows you to send a one-time, self-destructing message securely. Here's how:
Security Highlights:
- End-to-End Encryption: Messages are encrypted with AES-256 before being stored. Only the correct password can decrypt it.
- One-Time Access: Each link is valid for a single view only. After being accessed once, the message is deleted permanently.
- Automatic Deletion: Messages are securely deleted after expiration, even if they were never viewed.
- Password Protection (Optional): If you choose to set a password, even if someone steals the link, they cannot view the message without the password.
- Password Security: Your password is strored as a hash inside of the encryption key and cannot be viewed by us or anyone else.
- No Tracking: We do not log or monitor message contents or recipients.
- Encryption At-Rest: We cannot see the contents of your message. It is stored encrypted and only for the time period you specified.
Step-by-Step Process:
- 1. Write Your Message: You enter your confidential message into our secured form.
- 2. (Optional) Set a Password: You can add an extra layer of security by setting a password.
- 3. Encryption: Your message is encrypted on our server using AES-256 encryption.
- 4. One-Time Link: A unique, one-time-use link is generated for you to share with the intended recipient.
- 5. Expiration: You can choose when the message expires: 15 minutes, 30 minutes, 1 hour, 12 hours, 24 hours, or 3 days.
- 6. Self-Destruction: Once the message is viewed or the expiration time is reached, it is permanently deleted.
Best Practices:
- Always use a strong password if the message is highly sensitive.
- Share the secure link and password separately if possible (e.g., link via email, password via text).
- Remember: once a message is viewed or expires, it is gone forever — we cannot recover it.
